Shalva Amonashvili

Shalva Alexandrovich Amonashvili (* 1931 in Tbilisi) is an academician of the Russian Academy of Education and one of the most influential educators of the 20th and 21st centuries. His philosophy of humane pedagogy is rooted in the belief that every child is a spiritual being with a unique mission.
His work includes over 100 books and has been translated into more than 30 languages. He developed the method of 'Living Lessons', where love, joy, and dignity are the foundations of learning.
Paata Amonashvili
Educator · Psychologist · Seminar Leader
Paata Amonashvili, son and student of Shalva Amonashvili, continues his father's work and develops it for the present day. He is known for his seminars on the 'Psychology of Correspondence' and the topic 'Happy, balanced, and successful children'.
Paata Amonashvili emphasizes: 'Learning is not a fight against the child's nature, but a dance with it.' His work combines classical humanistic pedagogy with modern developmental psychology.
The Philosophy
Three Pillars of Humane Pedagogy
Humane pedagogy is based on three central beliefs that fundamentally change the relationship between adults and children.
Accepting the child as a unique being
Every child is a unique phenomenon with its own mission. Our task is to recognize and promote this uniqueness, instead of forcing it into a schema.
Ennobling the child in its development
We meet the child with faith in its unlimited potential. Through our positive expectations and respect, we 'ennoble' the child and encourage it to grow beyond itself.
Co-creating the child's life
Education is not a one-sided process, but a co-creation. We are not only teachers, but also learners who walk a path of growth and joy together with the child.
