The Concept
What is the «School of Life»?
Shalva Amonashvili developed the concept of the «School of Life» as a counter-proposal to the authoritarian, performance-oriented school. In his vision, the school is not just a place for imparting knowledge, but a place where life itself is taught: compassion, dignity, joy, creativity and the ability to recognize one's own mission.
The teacher in the School of Life is not a purveyor of knowledge, but a «bearer of light» – someone who ignites the child's inner fire. He brings himself with him: his personality, his joy, his love for the subject and for the child. Teaching becomes an encounter between two souls.
This concept is not a utopia – it is a living practice that Amonashvili developed in Georgia and has spread worldwide. Our advanced courses invite experienced teachers to discover this practice for themselves and integrate it into their daily school life.
